Our History

Established in May 1985, Waweru Gatonye & Company Advocates has built a name for itself as one of Kenya’s finest commercial practice firms. The firm maintains a very good team of litigators and has made an impression in several important fields, including corporate/commercial litigation, conveyance & property matters, and arbitration. Specializing in commercial litigation as well as conveyance & property matters, the firm provides pragmatic, solution-driven services that add value to our clients’ businesses.

Our Clientelle

We have a state-of-the-art library that comprises the entire common law library, the complete set of the 3’d and 4th Halsbury’s Laws of England the full set of Atkin Court Forms and precedents as well as the set of Palmers on Company Law. The library also contains the all England Law Reports as well as the East Africa Law Report. The Kenya Law Reports are up-to-date.

We also have a very well-stocked reference section.


Pupillage Program

The firm offers 8 places each year for and exciting and rewarding training of lawyers who wish to complete their Advocate Training Program and qualify as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya over a mandatory one-year pupillage programme. We recruit competitively to fill in the pupillage slots and candidates applying must be enrolled as students at the Kenya School of Law.
